Still Foam Rolling Your Thigh? | Akridge & Akridge Chiropractic
Foam rolling is often prescribed for Iliotibial band (ITB) pain. However, new research has found a couple of interesting points:
- Rolling can sometimes increase sprint performance and flexibility and reduce muscle pain.
- The effects of foam rolling on performance and recovery are usually “rather minor.”
- The evidence seems to justify the widespread use of foam rolling as a warm-up activity rather than a recovery tool.
